New Zealand captain Kane Williamson now has 18 Test centuries
Kane Williamson is now top of the list of New Zealand Test centurions after completing his hundred against England in Auckland.
Williamson's 18th ton came up 35 minutes into the second day's play at Eden Park when the Blackcaps skipper capitalised on a misfield in the English slip cordon.
He moves one clear of both Martin Crowe and current team-mate Ross Taylor as a result.
Williamson's century haul arrived in 64 Tests and 114 innings for his country, 13 Tests and 17 innings fewer than Crowe.
Taylor, who was dismissed for 20 on Thursday night, is playing in his 84th Test match for the Kiwis and has taken 150 innings to reach 17 centuries.
Williamson reached his ton against England on Friday
Williamson, widely regarded as the best batsman New Zealand have produced, averages over 51 in the format and is currently ranked fourth in theworld by the ICC in the Test arena.
He has made 26 half-centuries in addition to his 17 tons, with three of his hundreds coming against South Africa and Sri Lanka and two apiece against England, Australia, Bangladesh, India and West Indies.
