Courtney Walsh, who has been on the Bangladesh staff since 2016, will take charge of the team for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy - a T20 tri series also involving Sri Lanka and India
Courtney Walsh has been appointed Bangladesh head coach on an interim basis as the country's governing body continues to look for a replacement for Chandika Hathurusingha.
Walsh, who has been on the Bangladesh staff since 2016, will take charge of the team for the upcoming Nidahas Trophy - a T20 tri series also involving Sri Lanka and India.
Hathurusingha resigned the role in November in order to move into the same position within the Sri Lankan setup.
Walsh, whose three-year contract with the BCB runs until 2019, had previously been bowling coach on the Bangladesh staff.
Meanwhile, Shakib al Hasan has been included in the Tigers' squad for the Nidahas Trophy despite his recent finger injury and even though BCB president Nazmul Hasan said he may only be able to play one or two matches.
