Champions Multan Sultans will kick-off the 34-match campaign against Karachi Kings
Defending champions Multan Sultans will open the seventh edition of the Pakistan Super League against Karachi Kings after the schedule for the new season was confirmed.
Running from its earliest start date of January 27 until February 27, the 34-match competition will be played in Karachi and Lahore, where the playoffs and final will be staged.
The player draft will take place on December 12 to determine the squads of the six franchises.
Teams will play an equal number of matches at each venue and day and floodlit matches will be split evenly.
The earlier start date will allow extra time for Pakistan's players to prepare for the visit of Australia.
The tour, starting in early March, consists of three Tests, three one-day internationals and a standalone T20.
The new PSL season will begin on January 27
The 2021 tournament had to be suspended after 14 group games when multiple cases of Covid-19 surfaced. It eventually resumed in June in the United Arab Emirates.
"I am delighted that the HBL PSL 7 schedule has been announced," said PCB chair Ramiz Raja.
"This will now get the ball rolling with the teams to start planning and finalising their line-ups and the PCB increasing the pace of the operational delivery to ensure they provide quality playing facilities for the players as well as five-star experience to the fans and our valued commercial partners.
"The HBL PSL 7 will also kick start what will be a bumper year for Pakistan cricket with the Australia men’s cricket team to play a full series in March-April with England men’s cricket side to tour Pakistan twice for white-ball and red-ball cricket."
