Australia have named Tim Paine as ODI captain for the tour of England
Tim Paine has been named Australia captain for the country's one-day tour of England in June, with Aaron Finch assuming the T20 role.
Paine, who became skipper of the Test side in the wake of the ball-tampering scandal which ended with former captain Steve Smith being banned for 12 months, will lead a 15-man travelling party for the five-match ODI trip.
Finch, meanwhile, takes on the captaincy in the shortest format from David Warner, who also received a year-long suspension from Cricket Australia for his part in the Cape Town furore.
The T20 side will take on England in a one-off encounter before heading for a Tri Series in Zimbabwe.
There is no place for destructive batsman Chris Lynn in either squad. The Brisbane Heat man is still nursing a shoulder problem which will need futher examination following the conclusion of his time in the IPL with Kolkata Knight Riders.
Aaron Finch is the T20 captain
Adam Zampa, the legspinner, also misses out on a place in either setup.
Nathan Lyon, however, has secured a return to the ODI squad, while Darcy Short and Glenn Maxwell make both lineups.
Surprisingly, young Adelaide Strikers wicketkeeper-batsman Alex Carey has been handed the T20 vice-captaincy.
National selector Trevor Hohns said: "Tim is a strong leader and will captain the side for this series, supported by Aaron (Finch).
"A decision on a permanent one-day captain will be made in due course.
"Nathan (Lyon) is our number one off-spinner and has excelled with the red ball. However he is not new to white-ball cricket and deserves his chance to push for World Cup selection.
Alex Carey is T20 vice-captain
"England potentially have a number of left-handers in their side and we look forward to seeing what he can produce with the white-ball in English conditions.
"Alex (Carey) is a very smart one-day player who can also bat anywhere in the order.
"With Tim in the side, Alex will be the back-up wicket-keeper, but we believe his game is strong enough to play as a batter only."
