Liam Livingstone and Ravi Bopara headed the list of renowned T20 players that were selected in the Mzansi Super League draft on Tuesday.
The Lancashire and Essex allrounders were picked up by Cape Town Blitz and Durban Heat respectively for their maiden stints in the competition, which is heading into its second year.
Livingstone, who has already enjoyed stints in the Pakistan Super League and the Indian Premier League over the last year, is joined in the tournament by Lancashire teammate Dane Vilas.
The 34-year-old Lancashire captain has joined Bopara at Durban Heat, while Hampshire and England's James Vince is off to Paarl Rocks to join up with JP Duminy, who retired from South Africa ODI duty after the World Cup.
However, England's World Cup winner Liam Plunkett and Middlesex captain Dawid Malan both went unsold at their prices of 200 Rand and 650 Rand respectively.
Nevertheless, Hampshire captain Vince has been selected and will play under South Africa captain Faf du Plessis and Essex's Cameron Delport.
Spinner Simon Harmer has also been picked up in the draft alongside Essex teammates Bopara and Delport and will join reigning champions Jozi Stars with Temba Bavuma, who enjoyed a County Championship stint with Northamptonshire this season.

Fast bowlers Morne Morkel and Hardus Viljoen, who have played county cricket for Surrey and Kent this summer, were drafted in by Tshwane Spartans and Paarl Rocks, while spinner Roelof van der Merwe, who took 15 wickets in this year's T20 Blast for Somerset, has joined Morkel at Spartans, as has wicketkeeper Heinrich Klassen, who has not played for South Africa since January.
Farhaan Behardien, Aaron Phangiso, Wiaan Mulder, Dwaine Pretorius and Beuran Hendricks were the other picks from South Africa's white-ball players both past and present, with the latter two having been involved in the World Cup.
Players who have been more accustomed to the Test arena for the Proteas, 34-year-old Vernon Philander and Dean Elgar,32, were also brought in in the draft by Cape Town Blitz and Tshwane Spartans.
The most notable foreign picks apart from the English trio are Pakistan's Mohammad Nawaz and Australia's Ben Dunk.
