The Indian Premier League will resume from September 19. The tournament was postponed in May 2021 due to Covid-19.

Chennai Super Kings, Delhi Capitals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Mumbai Indians, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad are all involved.

For the original tournament, player retentions were announced on January 20, 2021. The mini-auction took place on February 18, 2021.
