Some of the world's greatest players go under the hammer in the IPL auction, here's how you can watch the drama unfold
The 2025 IPL (Indian Premier League) auction takes place on Sunday, November 24 and will feature some of the modern games most famous names.
Unfortunately UK viewers cannot watch the IPL auction live. It has previously been shown on Sky Sports but the only way to watch is on Indian channels and streaming services.
Viewers in India can watch the IPL auction on the Star Sports Network or live stream it on the JioCinema app. If you are out of the country you can still access the Star Sports Network coverage but you will need to use a VPN service.
A VPN service works by allowing you to connect to a server in another country, meaning your device is seen as being in that country. It can be used to access country-specific TV and streaming services if you are subscribed to them but are abroad.
Once you download a VPN from ExpressVPN, NordVPN or SurfShark you will need to install it and choose your location as India to access Star Sports or download the JioCinema app. This allows you to watch the coverage if you are a subscriber but are out of the country at the time of the auction.
The IPL auction starts at 12.30pm local time on Sunday 24 November. That means 9.30am in the UK and 3pm in India. The auction will take two days to complete.
The 2025 IPL auction takes place in Jeddah at the Abady Al Johar Arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Over 1,500 players including 320 capped players registered for the auction and a total of 574 will feature, including 366 Indian players, 208 players from overseas and three from association nations.
They include 42-year-old England legend James Anderson, as well as top band international stars including Mitchell Starc and Kagiso Rabada. There are a total of 37 English players up for auction including Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone and Harry Brook.
Indian players will dominate the two-day event. Rishabh Pant, KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Mohammad Shami, Ravichandran Ashwin, Mohammed Siraj and Yuzvendra Chahal are the pick of the options for teams for the auction.
The squads as they stand for the 2025 IPL can be found here.
