Brad Hodge will not coach Kings XI Punjab in the 2019 edition of the Indian Premier League.

The franchise announced on Monday that they have parted company with the former Australia international, who only joined the side ahead of the 2018 campaign.

Hodge had agreed a three-year deal with Kings XI, reporting to director of cricket Virender Sehwag, but will leave the team after less than 12 months.

Chief executive Satish Menon said in a statement: “Working with Brad Hodge has been an absolute pleasure both as a person and as the CEO of Kings XI Punjab.

"The team has learned a lot from his stint with us and we wish him much success in all his future endeavours."

Hodge previously held the position of coach at Gujarat Lions. He is currently working with St Lucia Stars in the Caribbean Premier League.
