The 26-year-old batsman's elbow extension in his action was judged to have exceeded the 15-degree limit
Billy Root has been suspended from bowling in competitive county cricket after his action was reviewed by the ECB.
The Glamorgan batsman was subjected to an independent assessment, under the ECB's process for Bowlers for Suspect Actions on Wednesday, May 8 which concluded that his bowling action displayed elbow extension more than the 15 degress permitted.
The ECB, having received the report from the assessment on Friday, have therefore banned the 26-year-old from bowling in county cricket or on the international stage until they are satisfied he has corrected his action when he submits a request for a fresh independent assessment.

Glamorgan, who are currently facing Derbyshire in County Championship Division Two, and captain Tom Cullen will therefore have to do without him as a bowling option for the foreseeable future.
The south Wales side are still looking for their first four-day win of the season, having drawn their first two matches against Gloucestershire and Northamptonshire respectively.
