Thanks George for such a detailed and even-handed piece. Unfortunately it's not only Cricket Scotland who are 'still learning': Simi Singh was summarily discarded by Ireland with an ODI economy rate under 4 and six months after being in the ICC ODI Team of the Year; Feroze Khushi, who had previously been the victim of poor treatment at Essex, was released a month after scoring a double hundred and a hundred in a Second XI game; Durham didn't field a single player of South Asian origin across their first or second team last year. There is definite improvement in a lot of places, but the laggards are becoming more obvious.

A quite staggering display of tone deafness by Cricket Scotland. The Asian community has been a cornerstone of Scottish cricket for a long time so it's dispiriting to learn how they have been belittled and dismissed despite their contribution.
