The 2021 LV= Insurance County Championship will be divided into three groups of six teams, with each side playing everyone else in their group home and away.

A second round of group matches will follow, with the top two, middle two, and bottom two teams from each of the first-round pools playing against each other.

The two teams which finish top of the top group after the second round of matches will play for the Bob Willis Trophy at Lord's in late September.

Group 2: Gloucestershire, Hampshire, Leicestershire, Middlesex, Somerset, Surrey

In the divisional stages of the county championship, how will it be decided who plays who in each division with six teams in each but only four matches to be played, and which games are at home and which two away presumably? And what is the incentive for the twelve teams in divisions two and three who cannot win the championship or qualify for The Bob Willis Trophy Final?
