HUW TURBERVILL AT LORD'S: How did England and India perform during the second one-day international?
Jason Roy (23): Tried hard but still straining for rhythm. Poor shot to bow out to again. 5
Jonny Bairstow (38): Batted quite well without reproducing this summer’s Test brilliance. 6.5
Joe Root (11): Not at his best again. Maybe Sunday (July 17) will be his day at Emirates Old Trafford. 4
Ben Stokes (21): Out reverse-sweeping. Had played the shot well a few times but it smacked of over-kill. Anxious types will be concerned that he didn’t bowl. 6
Jos Buttler (4): Fell yet again in an ODI to a full one from Mohammed Shami; but as skipper will be feeling much better than he did after Tuesday. 6
Liam Livingstone (33, 1-4): Looked good but his dismissal was frustrating… four, six, out in successive balls! James Anderson called it "brainless" on the BBC. 5
Moeen Ali (47, 1-30: Looked England’s best batsman although he did hole out when a big score looked in prospect. Bowling currently lacks consistency. 7
David Willey (41, 1-27): Intelligent stuff, bit of swing, accurate. Useful runs too. Looks hungry after his 2019 World Cup snub. 8
Reece Topley (5-26, 3): Superb. England's record figures. Cutters, slower ones, character. 10
Craig Overton (10*, 0-22): Admirably accurate, despite scepticism at his selection. Heaped pressure on India. 7.5
Bryson Carse (2, 1-32): A work in progress. Needs a yorker. 7

Rohit Sharma (0): Not his day with the bat; ultimately will regret giving England first use. 2
Shikhar Dhawan (9): Struggled before being strangled (cliche alert) down the legside. 3
Virat Kohli (16): Long arid spell with the bat continues. 4
Rishabh Pant (0): Dismal dismissal for a duck to a full-toss. 2
Suryakumar Yadav (27): Batted well, bit unlucky to chop on. 6
Hardik Pandya (2-28, 29): Solid all-around display even if his two wickets were gifted. 7
Ravindra Jadeja (0-17, 29): Looked stylish as ever but this time didn’t affect the outcome of the match. 6
Mohammed Shami (1-48, 23): Not as lethal as he was at the Kia Oval but did threaten/frustrate briefly with the bat. 6
Jasprit Bumrah (2-49, 2*): Again England played him better than they did south of the river. 6.5
Yuzvendra Chahal (4-47, 3): Excellent from the leggie. Took his wickets with enticing slower balls but his changes of pace including quicker ones kept England on their toes. 9
Prasidh Krishna (1-53, 0): Dropped short and hit for sixes by Moeen and Willey, who he dropped on one. 5
