Ecclestone has since been ruled out of the remainder of the home summer and the 2023 Women's Big Bash (October 19-December 2), withdrawing from the competition's inaugural draft.
She represented Sydney Sixers in 2022, scoring 126 runs at a strike rate above 150 and taking 20 wickets as they reached the final.
Ecclestone was not named in England's squad for the upcoming white-ball series against Sri Lanka, instead being rested to manage her workload after featuring in every match of the Women's Ashes and captaining Manchester Originals in The Hundred.
