Pakistan and England men have confirmed the dates for the seven-match T20I series which will act as a warm-up before the World Cup in Australia.

Karachi's National Stadium will host the first four matches of the tour on September 20, 22, 23 and 25.

The series concludes at the Gadaffi Stadium in Lahore on September 28, 30 and October 2.

Both nations were set to contest five T20Is in September and October 2021 but it was controversially pulled over security concerns.

The ECB immediately came under fire and promised to return, adding two more games to the tour to help rebuild relations with the PCB.

Pakistan v England T20I series fixtures:

Tuesday, September 20: 1st T20I (Karachi)

Thursday, September 22: 2nd T20I (Karachi)

Friday, September 23: 3rd T20I (Karachi)

Sunday, September 25: 4th T20I (Karachi)

Wednesday, September 28: 5th T20I (Lahore)

Friday, September 30: 6th T20I (Lahore)

Sunday, October 2: 7th T20I (Lahore)

These T20Is act as the first leg of England's first tour of Pakistan in 17 years, which resumes after the World Cup (October 16-November 13) with a three-Test series in December, the dates for which have yet to be confirmed.

England women were also due to tour Pakistan alongside the men last year, for two T20Is and three ODIs, but that has yet to be rescheduled.

Pakistan are braced for a busy home season, with New Zealand arriving for two Tests and three ODIs in December and January, and then returning in April for five ODIs and five T20Is.

West Indies are the visitors in January before they host the 2023 Asia Cup. The campaign is supplemented by a domestic season including six competitions and the Pakistan Super League.

Managing director England men's cricket Rob Key said: "We have been liaising closely with the PCB over arrangements for this visit and the Tests later in the year, and will continue to work closely with the PCB, British High Commission and other relevant authorities as we continue to prepare for these tours.

"We would like to thank the PCB and the city authorities for all their ongoing assistance with planning for the tours, including hosting the recent pre-tour planning visit by ECB representatives and the PCA CEO."

"We are absolutely delighted to confirm hosting England for seven T20Is in Karachi and Lahore as a curtain-raiser to a busy, entertaining and exciting season of home internationals," added PCD director international cricket Zakir Khan

"England is one of the top-ranked T20I teams and them playing the shortest format in the lead up to the ICC men’s T20 World Cup in Pakistan will not only help the team management to finalise their preparations but will also set the tone for December’s three-Test series."
