The duo have been named in the XI to be led by Joe Root in the one-off Test match at Lord's which begins on Wednesday
Jason Roy and Olly Stone will make their England Test debuts against Ireland at Lord's on Wednesday, captain Joe Root has confirmed.
Surrey batsman Roy will earn his first cap off the back of fine form for England's 50-over team, playing a key role in the squad that won the World Cup at the same venue earlier this month.
Fellow debutant Stone will make his bow later than expected having recovered from a back injury that forced him to return home early from England's tour of the Caribbean earlier this year.
Joe Denly, who was dropped for the final 15-man squad for the World Cup, will also take the field, as will Somerset spinner Jack Leach after another impressive County Championship season so far, but county teammate Lewis Gregory misses out.
