Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Jofra Archer, Phil Salt, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid and David Willey have also been let go by their respective franchises
Harry Brook and Jofra Archer are among eight English players to have been released by their Indian Premier League franchises on deadline day for retentions.
Ben Stokes, Joe Root, Phil Salt, Adil Rashid, Chris Jordan and David Willey have also been let go by their respective franchises.
Brook will have to be picked up through the mini-auction on December 19 after being let go by Sunrisers Hyderabad, for whom he made a century in the 2023 competition but otherwise struggled.
Archer, meanwhile, was considered a shrewd signing by Mumbai Indians at the 2022 auction despite knowing he wouldn't be available for the upcoming edition. But that move hasn't worked out as hoped, with the fast bowler's injury troubles not allowing for the dream partnership of Archer and Jasprit Bumrah to take shape.
The exits of Stokes and Root are unsurprising, given both withdrew from next year's tournament to manage their respective workloads. The pair played five matches between them in the 2023 edition, Stokes with two for Chennai Super Kings, Root with three for Rajasthan Royals.

Salt will re-enter the auction pool after being let go by Delhi Capitals, while Rashid was a Sunrisers teammate of Brook, and Willey was at Royal Challengers Bangalore, whose incoming director of cricket is Mo Bobat, England's performance director.
Brook's hundred against Kolkata Knight Riders was a coming-of-age moment for the Yorkshire star, but that knock was an outlier in a difficult campaign. He was moved around the order as Brian Lara looked for ways to extract the best form out of the 24-year-old, but he scored just 90 runs in his 10 other innings.
Moeen Ali, Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Will Jacks, Sam Curran, Reece Topley, Jason Roy and Mark Wood have all been retained by their respective franchises.
