England will tour Sri Lanka for two Tests in January 2021, the ECB have been confirmed.

The rescheduled matches come after the series last March was postponed as the Covid-19 pandemic took hold.

Both Tests will be played behind-closed-doors in Galle between 14-18 and 22-26 January.

The series makes up part of the inaugural edition of the World Test Championship.

Players and backroom staff will take a chartered flight to Hambantota on January 2 and will be initially based at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium.

Following the Tests, they will depart Sri Lanka on January 27.

A Test series against India in February remains in the pipeline but dates and venues are yet to be confirmed.
