England name unchanged squad for final Pakistan Test

England have named an unchanged squad for the final match of their three-Test series against Pakistan.

Joe Root's side go into the game at the Ageas Bowl with a one-game lead over the tourists, having won at Emirates Old Trafford before rain wiped out any chance of a result at the Ageas Bowl.

It means that Mark Wood, Ollie Robinson and Jofra Archer are once again part of the 14-man group, with the trio of seamers having been left out of the playing XI for the draw last week.

So far this summer, England have made a point of rotating their fast bowlers to ensure that they stay fit through a busy, truncated period of action.

However, with only 91.2 overs bowled across Pakistan’s innings – which began on the first morning and ended on the fifth, it remains to be seen whether Root and head coach Chris Silverwood will feel a need to do so on this occasion.
