A left side strain means the Surrey batsman will not feature in any of the matches at Emirates Old Trafford but Eoin Morgan's men will not call up a replacement
Jason Roy has been ruled out of England's T20 international series against Pakistan.
The Surrey man suffered a left side strain during training this week and after undergoing a scan the decision has been taken to withdraw him from the squad.
He will remain with the group in an effort to return to full fitness for the white-ball matches against Australia in September.
Eoin Morgan's men have opted against calling up a replacement for Roy, who averages 24.57 with the bat for his country.
England face Pakistan in three T20s at Emirates Old Trafford starting on Friday (August 27) and continuing on August 29 and September 1.
