Ben Stokes has confirmed he will be able to bowl during England's tour of South Africa after scans showed he had sustained no major damage to his left knee.
The allrounder's fitness was somewhat in doubt after he reported pain in the joint during the second Test against New Zealand in Hamilton, but an MRI upon his return to the UK has brought good news.
"It's alright," Stokes told TalkSport. "I got some scans when we got back [to] England and there's nothing really showing up on the MRI scans, which is good news.
"I just need to toughen up I guess but it's alright and it's just treatment now. I will be fine to bowl [in South Africa]."
Stokes had surgery on his left knee in May 2016 after tearing cartilage during a series against South Africa.
