If he plays in all format games he will suffer burnout quite quickly. I hope that Test cricket will be given priority and that the white ball games will have to be shared in captaincy terms. It shows the lack of captaincy material for England in the 50 over and 20 over formats and the other candidates have much to learn.

He's one of the few players guaranteed hisplace. It's like captaining by rote. He has no pedigree in the post. It'll be leading by example like Buttler, and look how that went.
