Kent have announced that bowler Harry Podmore has signed a contract extension with the club until the end of the 2021 campaign.

The 24-year-old took 43 County Championship wickets at 23.30 in a summer that saw Kent promoted to Division One.

Podmore said: “It’s been a dream first season for me at Kent, I’ve felt at home right from the word go.

“Everyone was very welcoming to me and I feel part of a special group here at The Spitfire Ground. This is just the beginning and we can build upon Kent Cricket’s rich history with this talented group of players that are hungry for success.”

Paul Downton, director of cricket, said: “Harry has fitted into the squad brilliantly both on and off the pitch.

“His capabilities with both bat and ball are there for all to see, so we’re delighted that he’s signed an extension.

“We’re really looking forward to seeing him develop even further over the coming years – there are exciting times ahead for this group.”
