The Cricketer wraps up the best of the action during day two of round ten of the Vitality County Championship in 2024
Leicester (day two of four): Leicestershire 179 & 311-8, Middlesex 86 - Leicestershire lead by 404 runs with 2 wickets remaining
Middlesex are facing a first defeat of the season in the Vitality County Championship after Leicestershire batted themselves into a commanding position on day two at the Uptonsteel County Ground.
Lewis Goldsworthy (75) and Ben Green (45 not out), who are both at Grace Road on loan from Somerset to boost a depleted squad, made their presence felt as Leicestershire reached 311 for 8 in their second innings.
Rain then forced an early end to play, with 37 overs lost.
Middlesex captain Toby Roland-Jones bowled superbly to finish with 5 for 76, but after being bowled out for 86 his side are 404 runs behind.
Cheltenham (day two of four): Gloucestershire 179 & 388-3, Glamorgan 197 - Gloucestershire lead by 370 runs with 7 wickets remaining
Miles Hammond and Cameron Bancroft both scored hundreds as Gloucestershire assumed control on the second day of the Vitality County Championship Second Division match against Glamorgan.
Having been bowled out for 179 on the opening day and conceded a first-innings deficit of 18 after dismissing Glamorgan for 197, the home side found themselves under pressure when Timm van der Gugten reduced them to 17 for 2.
However, Hammond and Bancroft turned the tables by staging a mammoth third-wicket stand of 201 in 36.1 overs as the pitch flattened out and overhead conditions improved.

Northampton (day two of four): Sussex 143 & 237, Northamptonshire 97 & 137-4 - Northamptonshire require 147 runs to win with 6 wickets remaining
Sussex's bowlers dealt Northamptonshire a double blow late in the day at Wantage Road to close in on victory.
The Sharks also have the chance to stretch their advantage at the top of Vitality County Championship Division Two.
Set a target of 284, Emilio Gay's 67 appeared to have given Northamptonshire a fighting chance – but he and skipper Luke Procter both fell in the space of four balls to leave the visitors as clear favourites in a low-scoring contest.
Seamer Nathan McAndrew, who dismissed Gay lbw, ended with 2 for 37 as the home side closed on 137 for 4 – still needing another 147 to pull off a first win of the season.
Derby (day two of four): Derbyshire 76, Yorkshire 416-6 - Yorkshire lead by 340 runs with 4 wickets remaining
James Wharton and Jonny Tattersall shared a record-breaking stand before rain frustrated Yorkshire on the second day of the Vitality County Championship match against Derbyshire at Chesterfield.
The pair shared a partnership of 241, Yorkshire's highest for the sixth wicket against Derbyshire, as the visitors moved to 416 for 6 when play was abandoned shortly before 4.30 pm.

Wharton faced 241 balls for his career-best 188 which contained 23 fours and six sixes with Tattersall 93 not out off 151 balls to give Yorkshire a lead of 340.
Yorkshire had been unrelenting with the ball on day one and there was no respite for Derbyshire as Wharton and Tattersall batted through a rain-shortened first session.
