Australia batsman Joe Burns looks set for a stint in county cricket
Joe Burns is to join Glamorgan for the remainder of this season's T20 Blast.
The Welsh county have been on the hunt for a new signing after Shaun Marsh was ruled out for the rest of the campaign because of a shoulder injury.
And that search would appear to be at an end, with Australian media outlets claiming that Marsh's fellow Aussie Burns is to replace him in Cardiff.
A report by cricket.com.au states that Burns, who plays for Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash, could make his first appearance for Glamorgan as early as this Friday, when Somerset are the opponents.
His deal is not expected to include first-class cricket, even though Glamorgan need a replacement for Marsh in the County Championship.
Burns averages 27.25 in T20s across his career, striking at 124.63. He has hit five half-centuries in 52 innings in the shortest format.
