Tom Wood and Mattie McKiernan both featured in the 2020 season, while Nils Priestley has penned a rookie deal
Tom Wood, Mattie McKiernan and Nils Priestley have signed new contracts with Derbyshire.
Wood signed a deal ahead of the shortened 2020 season, having previously impressed in second team cricket, and has now signed a one-year extension.
McKiernan was a regular fixture in Derbyshire’s side, after initially making his T20 Blast debut for the club in 2018. He took wickets with his leg-spin and recorded a maiden half century in the Bob Willis Trophy against Lancashire.
Twenty-year-old Priestley, meanwhile, is yet to make a first team appearance but has been handed a rookie contract for the 2021 campaign.
Head of cricket Dave Houghton said: “We have a small squad, so having three promising players staying with us is a big positive.
“Tom Wood and Mattie McKiernan fitted in really well with the way we like to play, and they took their chances in both formats, while Nils has shown a lot of promise while working with us in training and travelling with the squad.
“They can all play in multiple formats, and that will be key for us moving forward as we look to rotate the line-up and develop our younger players.”
