Each week The Cricketer picks a team of the week from the standout performers in the Caribbean Premier League
In assocation with Rario's all-new cricket strategy game, take a look at the The Cricketer's CPL team of the week and become a part of the action.
Johnson Charles (St Lucia Kings)
Easily the least surprising name in this XI. Johnson Charles celebrated his call up for West Indies' T20 World Cup squad with back-to-back half-centuries against St Kitts & Nevis Patriots (61 off 41) – including a blistering opening stand with Faf du Plessis – and Trinbago Knight Riders (54 off 46). He sits top of the run-scoring charts, with 342 runs (four half-centuries) in eight innings.

Kyle Mayers (Barbados Royals)
No one matched Charles' consistency at the top of the order this week but Kyle Mayers certainly lit up Port of Spain during Barbados Royals' clash with TKR. The 30-year-old smashed 79 runs off just 36 balls, including 10 fours and five sixes and hit Kieron Pollard for 4, 6, 6 at one point in his innings. Of Mayers' 295 runs in the 2022 CPL, 228 have come in boundaries.

Colin Munro (Trinbago Knight Riders)
Knocks of 42 (37) and 40 (28) wouldn't ordinarily secure you a spot in a team of the week but Colin Munro's 82 runs were integral in TKR recording consecutive wins for the first time this season. He top-scored for his side against both Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs, enjoying important early partnerships with Nicholas Pooran and Tim Seifert against the former and kickstarting TKR's chase against the latter.

Quinton de Kock (Barbados Royals)
As with opening batters, it's been relatively slim pickings for wicketkeepers this week. However, Quinton de Kock stands out for his blistering knock of 74 (43) against Jamaica Tallawahs. The South African was the only Royals batter to find any joy in a losing cause, picking off seven fours and three sixes and striking at 172.09 – one of only three players to exceed 110. His highest score of the tournament.

Jason Holder (Barbados Royals)
Jason Holder has been this week's standout player. With the ball, he collected six wickets in 10 overs, including figures of 3 for 33 against Jamaica Tallawahs and 1 for 8 against Guyana Amazon Warriors. Oh, and he had a hand in a further three wickets thanks to his safe hands in the field. With the bat, meanwhile, he top-scored for his side against the Warriors, scoring 40 not out (33), including one four and three sixes.

David Wiese (St Lucia Kings)
Speaking of all-round contributions, David Wiese retains his spot in the XI following another strong week. The Namibia international was lethal with the ball against St Kitts, ripping through their middle order on his way to figures of 3 for 8 from four overs, having earlier struck 21 (12) at No.6. The following day, he smashed 33 runs off 14 balls and returned figures of 0 for 18 from his three overs against TKR. Across seven overs this week, Wiese conceded just one boundary.

Sunil Narine (Trinbago Knight Riders)
TKR have enjoyed an upturn in fortunes this week, winning two of their four matches, and Sunil Narine has played a key role in that. The 34-year-old scored 79 runs from the middle order, including a crucial knock of 26 (20) against Guyana Amazon Warriors. His bowling figures read 5 for 82 from 16 overs, including 53 dot balls, four fours and four sixes and best figures of 2 for 9 against the Warriors. Narine's economy for the tournament is a miserly 4.89.

Mujeeb Ur Rahman (Barbados Royals)
Mujeeb Ur Rahman arrived in the Caribbean from international duty with a bang, taking 3 for 17 – Seifert, Kieron Pollard, Narine – against TKR. A quiet match against Jamaica Tallawahs followed before he returned to his best against the Warriors, scoring 19 not out (nine balls) and picking up remarkable figures of 1 for 4. From his four overs, he bowled 21 dot balls.

Obed McCoy (Barbados Royals)
Just the six wickets for Obed McCoy this week – he now sits joint-second in the wicket-taking charts with 13 dismissals. He took 2 for 30 against TKR – including opener Nicholas Pooran, 2 for 19 against Jamaica Tallawahs and 2 for 24 against Guyana Amazon Warriors. A player getting better and better as the tournament progresses.

Mohammad Amir (Jamaica Tallawahs)
Ok, so Mohammad Amir is a fifth overseas player, but he's had another strong week for Jamaica Tallawahs. The Pakistan international shows no sign of giving up his miserly ways, returning figures of 3 for 47 from his 10 overs and bowling 37 dot balls. The pick of his performances came against TKR when he picked up 2 for 15 from four overs and bowled a maiden.

Ravi Rampaul (Trinbago Knight Riders)
Akeal Hosein was in contention for this spot but his TKR teammate Ravi Rampaul gets the nod on this occasion. He's been inconsistent across four matches this week but on his day, he has been majestic. Against Jamaica Tallawahs, for example, he returned figures of 4 for 19, dismissing four of the top six and conceding just two boundaries. He claimed a further two wickets, including the scalp of Johnson Charles, against St Lucia Kings.
