Yorkshire have signed Neil Wagner for the first 10 County Championship games of next summer.

The New Zealand fast bowler, who has previous county experience at Northamptonshire, Lancashire and Essex, is four wickets shy of 250 in Test cricket.

His most recent international appearance came in the Blackcaps' defeat at Headingley in June.

"I feel like I can offer a lot to the team with my experience, attitude and skill set, so I can't wait to get going. I want to be a big part of helping move the team back up into Division One," said Wagner.

The left-armer, 36, isn't the first seamer brought in by Yorkshire over the off-season. Ben Mike has arrived on a permanent deal from Leicestershire, having ended last summer on loan at the county.

Wagner joins Pakistan batter Shan Masood, who will captain Ottis Gibson's side next season, as an overseas player at Yorkshire, who will take their place in Division Two in 2023 after their last-gasp relegation in September.

Yorkshire managing director of cricket Darren Gough added: "We are delighted to have confirmed the signing of Neil for the opening ten rounds of the Championship.

"His record in first-class cricket is phenomenal, and the impact he has had on Test cricket playing for New Zealand has been huge. We are blessed to have some great bowlers to choose from within our ranks and believe that, with the addition of Neil, we have the bowlers to bowl any team out."
