Derbyshire had presented a series of contract offers to the Pakistan international but he has been swayed by the opportunity to move to Yorkshire
Shan Masood will be a Yorkshire player in 2023 after agreeing a two-year contract at Headingley.
Masood has been in devastating form for Derbyshire across formats in 2022, after being tempted to the Incora County Ground by head coach Mickey Arthur, but he has chosen to pursue a different direction from next season.
Derbyshire had presented a series of contract offers to the Pakistan international but he has been swayed by the opportunity to move to Yorkshire, where he will work with Ottis Gibson, the head coach who is also in charge of Masood's Pakistan Super League franchise, Multan Sultans.
The White Rose county confirmed the signing on Monday.

Director of cricket Darren Gough said: "Shan is a world-class batter who will contribute in all formats for us. He's a great senior player and we've seen from his performances with Derbyshire this year that he has what it takes to score a lot of runs in county cricket.
"His experiences from playing around the world, including international cricket with Pakistan, will be incredibly valuable to the squad we are building."
Masood said: "I maintain a strong desire to play cricket at the highest level and I feel this project at Yorkshire provides me with the ideal opportunity to take that step."
Yorkshire have now added three new players to their ranks as they look ahead to the 2023 campaign.
Bowler Matt Milnes will join the club from Kent at the end of the season, while allrounder Ben Mike has agreed a three-year deal and will leave Leicestershire.
