The conveyor belt between Worcestershire and Nottinghamshire has cranked into action once again, with Jack Haynes swapping New Road for Trent Bridge.

Haynes, the highly rated top-order batsman, has signed for Notts on a three-year contract, and will move at the end of the current county season.

He is the third Pears player to make the switch in a matter of days, following seamers Josh Tongue and Dillon Pennington.

Haynes said: "Trent Bridge is always a place I’ve loved coming to as a player; the club has a great feel about it, and the facilities and pitch are conducive to helping me develop as a cricketer.

"When I sat down with Pete Moores and Ant Botha, they were both passionate about the direction of this squad, and how I can fit into it."

Haynes was monitored by a host of other counties when it became clear he was not going to stay at Worcester, and he faces a considerable fight to make a regular place his own at Trent Bridge.

JACK HAYNES: CAREER STATS
First-class: 42 matches, 2,165 runs (ave 34.91)
List A: 11 matches, 469 runs (ave 42.63)
T20: 34 matches, 761 runs (s/r 143.31)

But that does not bother the 22-year-old, who is tipped for future England honours.

"I'm under no illusion that it'll take hard work to nail down a place in the side and continue to grow in all formats," he said.

"But Notts have a track record of taking on players and improving them to help them reach their potential."

An all-format prospect, Haynes has already played 42 first-class matches, and made more than 2,000 red-ball runs.
