Will Rhodes has stepped down from his role as Warwickshire's club captain.
The former Yorkshire allrounder, who hasn't missed a red-ball game for the Edgbaston county since joining, took on the role ahead of the Covid-affected season of 2020 as replacement for Jeetan Patel.
He returns to the ranks, having become one of just seven players in the county's history to lift the County Championship title, leading Warwickshire to the trophy in 2021. He subsequently won the Bob Willis Trophy at Lord's against Lancashire.
"It's been an unbelievable honour," he said. "I was hugely grateful for the opportunity when Jim Troughton and Paul Farbrace asked me to do it.
"And with the support of Robbo (Mark Robinson) and most recently (performance director) Gavin Larsen I'd like to think I've made a positive contribution and helped take the club forward."

Rhodes has made 10 centuries across formats for Warwickshire and has taken 107 wickets; Warwickshire are yet to name a replacement, but Alex Davies was Rhodes' vice-captain.
“I'm looking forward to next season, helping whoever will be the new captain, and hopefully giving them a bit of advice from the experience I've gained over the years," he added.
"The next captain will be very lucky to take on this group. This is an amazing group of very talented players. There are some experienced older heads and I've had the pleasure of giving debuts to some guys who I'm sure will go on to be club legends.
"I've no doubt silverware is on the horizon; nothing would make me prouder to see the next captain lifting some silverware and taking this club forward."
