The Australian right-arm fast bowler will be available up until the arrival of India’s Arshdeep Singh, who is due in Canterbury in June
Kent have signed the right-arm fast bowler Wes Agar for the next four County Championship matches, as the Australian positions himself for an improbable Ashes selection.
He will be available for every County Championship fixture before the arrival of Indian quick Arshdeep Singh in June.
While the Australian has two ODI appearances to his name, his sights appear set on a Test call-up.
First-class appearances for Australia A this winter were deemed a test for red-ball bowlers in conditions likely to replicate those found during the English summer. In the first match of the tour, Agar dismissed three of New Zealand A's top order on his way to innings figures of 4 for 56.

Upon the deal being announced, Agar said: "This is an exciting new challenge for me – playing county cricket has always been a dream of mine and I'm excited to be a Kent player and thankful for the opportunity.
"With a win already under our belt this year, I hope to be a part of more victories in my time here."
Director of Cricket Paul Downton added: "Wes is an exciting, wicket-taking bowler known for bowling a heavy ball.
"He offers us a point of difference that will complement our core bowling group at the club and will help us in our efforts to take 20 wickets in each of our next four matches in the Championship."
