Anderson, 41, took a seven-wicket haul in the opening spell of his Lancashire comeback and his first competitive game since March
James Anderson took his 1,115th first-class wicket when he bowled Nottinghamshire captain Haseeb Hameed in the County Championship match this morning.
Making his first appearance of the season, Anderson, was made to wait until the third day of the match to get the ball into his hands due to a combination of Lancashire batting first and rain taking out the third day.

In the seventh over of the Nottinghamshire innings, Hameed (6) defended an Anderson delivery which eventually rolled back onto his stumps.
This opened the floodgates as Anderson took five more wickets in his opening spell at Trafalgar Road in Southport.
New Zeland's top order batter, Will Young (2), was caught by wicketkeeper Matty Hurst before Joe Clarke (0) flashed a delivery to be caught by Jennings in the slip cordon.

The veteran seamer then got a ball to lift as Jack Haynes fended to short leg and he completed his five-wicket haul when he dismissed Lyndon James for five.
On the last ball of his next over, Anderson added a sixth wicket to his morning's tally by removing Liam Patterson-White, caught in the slips for just four.
His spell ended with a wicketless tenth over, his tenth in a row, with figures of 6 for 19 when George Balderson replaced him.
When he returned after lunch, it took him until his third over to secure his seventh wicket when he removed England newcomer Dillon Pennington for just three.
Tom Bailey's double-wicket over, in which he removed Calvin Harrison (12) and Olly Stone (0) in consecutive balls, robbed Anderson of the opportunity to take all ten Nottinghamshire wickets.
Before Lancashire took the final Notts wicket, the crowd were treated to Anderson and Nathan Lyon bowling in tandem even if it was just for a couple of overs.
Anderson is set to retire from Test cricket this summer after the Lord's test match against West Indies while his Lancashire future is unknown.
