The Cricketer and talkSPORT get second season for national county cricket radio show

Starting this Wednesday (April 5), Following On: County Cricketer will once again look to bring the county game to life for listeners, showcasing the best of the game across the 18 counties

talkSPORT and The Cricketer have renewed their partnership to produce a weekly county cricket podcast and radio show for the 2023 season.

Starting this Wednesday (April 5), Following On: County Cricketer will once again look to bring the county game to life for listeners, showcasing the best of the game across the 18 counties.

The show will be presented by two-time County Championship winner Steve Harmison and talkSPORT cricket editor Jon Norman, as well as The Cricketer's George Dobell and Nick Friend.

The show will broadcast on talkSPORT2 (Thursdays and Fridays) and be available to listen to via talkSPORT's Following On podcast feed (from 4pm on Wednesdays).

The Cricketer's digital editor, Sam Morshead, said: "We're delighted to have renewed our partnership with talkSport for another year.

"The county game is the bedrock of our cricketing summer, and Following On: County Cricketer is dedicated to providing insight, analysis, commentary and colour from around the network. The podcast is designed with county fans in mind so, if your regular haunt is Hove or Headingley, Lord's or Leicester, there'll be something for you."

Head of talkSPORT, Liam Fisher, said: "As the world's largest sports radio network, talkSPORT is the perfect partner for The Cricketer, shining a light on the county game this season. talkSPORT continues to expand its cricket rights packages across the globe, while this new show will hone in on county coverage."

Norman said: "As all cricket fans know, April and May is about county cricket and I'm delighted that for the second year running, national radio will have its own dedicated county cricket show on talkSPORT2 running throughout the summer."

The Cricketer has won the Outstanding Coverage of Domestic Cricket award at the Domestic Journalism Awards for five years in a row.

The County Hub is the go-to home of county cricket reporting online, with in-depth coverage of all 18 clubs, including news, interviews, analysis, opinion and stats.
