Exactly one week out from the start of English cricket's One-Day Cup starting on August 1, The Cricket Draft has now launched its latest game for the 2023 season.

With the Ashes concluding, the Hundred being pushed to the forefront of TV coverage and the County Championship on hiatus, the 50-over One-Day Cup will be the bastion to which fans of the traditional English counties will turn over the course of August until its Trent Bridge final on September 16.

Partnering with The Cricketer for 2023, The Cricket Draft - the UK's premier fantasy cricket game - puts your selecton skills to the test. Entries are now open and it's absolutely free to play.

Once you've selected your squad, you'll go up against all other entrants. Plus, you can join and create custom leagues pit you versus friends, families, colleagues and club members.

Players to watch

John Welch, co-founder of The Cricket Draft, revealed his three ones-to-watch ahead of the 2023 One-Day Cup fantasy cricket game:

James Rew - £111k

"The man of the moment. Currently the highest run getter in the County Championship, can Rew build on his very solid 307 runs at 38.37 in the One-Day Cup last year? The answer is most probably yes and then some!"

Brett Hutton - £122k

"Hutton is arguably one of the most in form players in the County Championship at the moment, and took the most wickets in the One-Day Cup last year (22). It's therefore hard to look past him having another stellar year."

Tom Prest - £100k

"A fantastic One-Day Cup in 2022 saw him score 402 runs at 44.66 with a strike rate of 90.16, it's hard not to be excited about the potential of Prest. And if he can improve on last year's batting performances - with the potential of chipping in with a few wickets, too - he could be right at the top end of the points scoring leaderboard."
