"I've worked hard on improving my red-ball game and this has come to fruition over the last couple of seasons. The next three years are going to be exciting for both myself and the club, and I'm looking forward to the new season."

Snater, 26, was Essex's men's player of the year and players' player of the year in 2022.

Head coach Anthony McGrath said: "Shane's new contract is a testament to the hard work he has put in to continually develop his game.

"He has produced a number of match-winning performances this year and the awards he picked up at the end of the season were richly deserved and showed how much he is respected by his fellow teammates."
