Sam Billings signs contract extension with Kent

The England international has made nearly 250 appearances across all formats for Kent, scoring nearly 7,000 runs and completing 296 catches and 35 stumpings

Sam Billings has signed a contract extension with Kent which will keep him in Canterbury until at least the end of the 2025 season.

The 31-year-old, a graduate of the club's academy, has made nearly 250 appearances across all formats since making his debut in April 2011 and was appointed men's captain ahead of the 2018 season.

He has scored nearly 3,000 runs in first-class cricket for Kent, with a further 1,606 runs in List A cricket and nearly 2,300 in T20s. He's also completed 296 catches and 35 stumpings.

As captain, he led Kent Spitfires to the 2021 T20 Blast title, their first trophy in 14 years.

Billings is also a three-format England international, featuring in three Tests, 25 ODIs and 37 T20Is.

Commenting on his contract extension, Billings said: "I have been at this club since I was eight years old and it gives me immense pride to represent my county at every opportunity.

"We need to continue to push forward and progress and I look forward to playing a part in driving the club to further success.

"I'm delighted to commit my long-term future to Kent and I'm excited to see what the future brings for us."
