GEORGE DOBELL - EXCLUSIVE: Farbrace is expected to contribute to the search for his successor, with Ashley Giles one possibility
Paul Farbrace is to leave his role as director of cricket at Warwickshire at the end of October.
Farbrace, who has held the position for four years, is not understood to have a full-time role elsewhere but, with his family living in Kent, has decided to take a break.
The club are understood to be disappointed he is leaving, but grateful for the progress made under his tenure. In particular, they feel the club's academy is stronger, the links with recreational cricket (and the pathway in general) are stronger and the club's second home, at Portland Road, has improved considerably.
Warwickshire also won the Championship and the Bob Willis Trophy in 2021 and, after a tricky couple of years, improved their T20 form in 2022.

They are struggling avoid relegation in the LV= Insurance County Championship, though. And they have failed to retain the services of senior players such as Dom Sibley, Olly Stone and Adam Hose who have announced they are joining Surrey, Nottinghamshire and Worcestershire respectively.
There are some suggestions there could be a change of captaincy, too.
Farbrace is expected to contribute to the search for his successor. Ashley Giles, who left the role of managing director of England's men's cricket a few months ago, is one obvious possibility.
