On the fringes of the T20 side in recent years - his last appearance came in September 2022 - the 29-year-old is back in contention ahead of the World Cup in the West Indies and United States
Hassan Ali has been recalled to Pakistan's T20I squad for the World Cup tune-up series against Ireland and England.
The 29-year-old seamer has not represented his country in the format since September 2022 but is included as backup to Haris Rauf, who lost his central contract in February and is recovering from a dislocated shoulder suffered during the Pakistan Super League.
Pakistan face Ireland in three T20Is (May 10-24) before taking on England in four matches (May 22-30) ahead of the Men's T20 World Cup in the West Indies and the United States, which begins on June 2.
The deadline for nations to confirm their 15-strong squad for the tournament is May 24, giving Hassan, who in 50 T20Is has 60 wickets at 23.56, plenty of opportunity to stake a claim.

But the call-up means Warwickshire will be without the right-armer for the County Championship matches against Surrey (May 10-13), Essex (May 17-20) and Lancashire (May 24-27).
Hassan has made two appearances in his second stint at Edgbaston, taking three wickets across draws with Hampshire and Nottinghamshire.
Being back in Pakistan contention for June's T20 World Cup raises the prospect of him being absent for much of Birmingham Bears' Blast group stage campaign, which gets underway at Durham on May 31. An agreement is in place for him to return in September for Finals Day, if the Bears progress, and the red-ball run-in.

Despite late speculation he could yet be involved, all-rounder Aamer Jamal has been omitted and will remain available to the county for the duration of his spell which runs until the end of the Blast group stage.
He scored 40 and returned match figures of 0-49 from 11 overs on his county debut against Notts during the Championship's fourth round.
There is more good news off the field after Warwickshire confirmed Rob Yates has been rewarded for a fast start to the season with a new two-year contract.

The 24-year-old is averaging 96.50 through five Championship innings in 2024 and is the third-highest scorer in Division One with 386 at a strike rate of 75.09.
"It's a privilege to call Edgbaston my home for at least another three years," said the 24-year-old.
"The place and the people here mean a lot to me and I aim to contribute more to the success we are working towards on and off the pitch."
