Ollie Sale will swap Somerset for Northamptonshire at the end of the county summer.
The 26-year-old seamer has signed a two-year contract at Wantage Road and will formally make the move from Taunton in November.
Sale has featured sporadically for Somerset since making his debut in a T20 Blast clash with Hampshire in 2016.
He has made 10 career T20 appearances, with three further outings in List A cricket. Northamptonshire, though, see him as an all-format prospect, with Sale's performances in the 2022 2nd XI competitions, where he averages a little over 17 with the ball, standing out.
"When I spoke with [Northamptonshire head coach] John Sadler, he talked me through his vision for the club and the role he sees me fulfilling in the squad and I knew it was a brilliant opportunity for me to join an increasingly strong Northamptonshire team on the rise.

"I can't wait to get going with the boys this winter and hopefully build up to a successful season next year."
Sadler said: "He's at the time of his career now where he felt a move would be good. What he offers feels like a great fit for us right now and he's someone we're really excited to get to work with."
Sale graduated from Somerset's academy in 2014 and said the idea of leaving the Taunton dressing room behind feels "slightly like leaving school".
"I will really miss seeing those familiar faces every day, but I'm optimistic for what the next couple of years have in store."
Somerset director of cricket Andy Hurry paid tribute to a "dilligent" and "tenacious" character.
"He has always given his all to everything he does, and his work-rate and effort have been exemplary," he said.
