Nottinghamshire have been hit with a suspended sanction by the Cricket Discipline Commission.
The news comes following a disciplinary hearing held remotely on November 19, after Nottinghamshire committed five breaches within a five-week period during their T20 Blast campaign.
The county have been handed a suspended points deduction for the 2021 season, dependent on player conduct next year. T20 captain Dan Christian has also been handed a suspended one-match ban, again dependent on the conduct of Nottinghamshire players in matches in which he is captain in 2021.
The sanction will see a two-point penalty imposed in the Royal London Cup or Vitality Blast, or a 16-point penalty in the County Championship, if Nottinghamshire players incur two fixed penalty breaches in any competition in 2021.
The exact nature of the points deductions would be decided by a disciplinary panel, should the situation arise, depending on the seriousness of any future breaches and the competition in which they occur.
Under Christian’s captaincy, Nottinghamshire won the T20 Blast in 2020.
