Confirmation of the England allrounder's three-year white-ball deal at Edgbaston comes with a bold promise for the future
Moeen Ali admits his "unfinished business" at Warwickshire was central to the decision to return to Edgbaston.
The Cricketer revealed last week the England allrounder was swapping Worcestershire, after 16 seasons at New Road, for a second spell at the Bears.
His limited-overs deal does include a pay-as-you-play red-ball element having recently signalled an intent to return to the Test team.
Ali made his first-class and List A debuts at Warwickshire after signing for the club aged 15, but he moved to Worcestershire in 2007 where he has spent the bulk of his county career.
Lancashire, Surrey and Yorkshire were all interested in adding the 35-year-old, but the lure of his former club was too good an opportunity to turn down.
"I’m delighted to return home to Edgbaston," said the Birmingham Phoenix captain.
"I was born and raised just a few miles away from the stadium, with my life always centred around Birmingham.

"When the opportunity presented itself, it was a decision I couldn’t say no to and I believe I have unfinished business at the Bears.
"I’m incredibly excited to be back and to play in front of the best atmosphere in world cricket.
"It’s a place that has so much history and players always have memories and stories of playing here.
"I’m looking forward to contributing and be part of hopefully something special."
Director of cricket Paul Farbrace added: "Mo is a huge signing for Warwickshire and a real statement of intent for our ambitions.
"Mo is someone I’ve known for many years and is a leader on and off the pitch. The experience he will bring to the club will be pivotal in our development as a team."
