Yorkshire have added Kent seamer Matt Milnes to their squad ahead of the 2023 county season.

The 28-year-old, formerly of Durham MCCU and Nottinghamshire, will move to Headingley on a three-year deal in November at the end of his contract at Canterbury.

Milnes joined Kent ahead of the 2019 campaign and spent four seasons at the club, helping them win the 2021 T20 Blast.

In 90 outings for the club across the formats, Milnes has taken 193 wickets.

Having played for Welsh Fire during the inaugural edition of the men's Hundred, he was drafted by Oval Invincibles for the 2022 campaign.

"I have had four happy and successful seasons with Kent, and I will always be grateful to Paul Downton, Matt Walker and my teammates for their support over the years," he said.

"It was a tough decision, but this feels like the right time to embrace a new challenge.

"I am excited by the prospect of joining Yorkshire and working with Ottis and his coaching staff. Hopefully, this will help me improve and push on to higher levels."

Interim managing director at Yorkshire and former England fast bowler Darren Gough added: "He's a very skilful fast bowler who will add some great competition to the group of seamers that we have here at Yorkshire.

"He's shown what he can do with a red ball, and we are confident he will be a force within our Championship side, as well as offering another great option to our white-ball teams."

In nine LV= Insurance County Championship matches this season, Milnes has taken 21 wickets for Kent while he claimed eight more during their ill-fated Blast title defence.
