Nottinghamshire have secured the services of Lyndon James for another three years.

The 22-year-old will remain at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2024 season.

James has played 14 first-class matches, seven List A games and four T20s since his senior debut in 2018.

Hailing from Worksop, James has cemented his position in the Notts middle-order this term thanks to scoring four fifties in 11 LV=Insurance County Championship matches.

"Representing Nottinghamshire has been a dream of mine since joining the system aged 10,” he said.

"To make my debut in 2018 was a special moment and I’ve relished being given the opportunity for an extended run in the side this summer.

"There’s much more I want to achieve moving forward and I’ll be working hard to play my part in bringing more success to Nottinghamshire in the future."

Head coach Peter Moores added: "With the bat, Lyndon has shown he has the temperament to stick in there for long periods of time. With the ball, he’s developed a knack for getting top players out and that’s a real asset for us to work with.

"The next few years are about building on what he’s done this season, continuing to put in the hard yards and striving to get better.

"Lyndon’s a pleasure to work with, in that regard, and we believe there’s a great deal he can go on to achieve in the game."
