Yorkshire have signed Lockie Ferguson as an overseas player for the T20 Blast.

The New Zealand quick is available for the entire North Group campaign, subject to international clearance.

Vikings' campaign begins on June 10 against Birmingham Bears. The Kiwis are due to face England in two Tests on June 2 and 10 before playing the World Test Championship final against either Australia or India.

Ferguson had a stint in the Blast with Derbyshire in 2018, taking 16 wickets in 13 matches.

In 59 T20s, the right-arm seamer has taken 60 scalps at an economy rate of 7.60.

"I’m really excited to have signed for Yorkshire for the upcoming T20 Blast," said the 29-year-old. "I have really fond memories of my time in the county game back in 2018 and look forward to getting back over to the UK.

"It’s a big year for T20 cricket with the T20 World Cup towards the end of the year, so regular top-level T20 cricket throughout the year, particularly at such a big county, is hugely beneficial."

Coach Andrew Gale added: "Lockie has got x-factor pace. Pace in T20 cricket is always a good thing, but also his death bowling in-particular will be hugely beneficial.

"We haven’t had somebody who is reliable and consistent at the death for a number of years. This is something that we have been working on with the lads in house, but also having someone who you can rely on at the death is a big plus."
