Lancashire recorded an operating profit of almost £3.1million in 2022, the county has announced.

In a statement, the club put the figures down to a return to full crowds following the pandemic, as well as a string of major concerts.

On top of staging the Test between England and South Africa and a pair of ODIs – having seen the 2021 Test against India called off at late notice – they also hosted performances from Harry Styles, Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Killers, one of which was initially postponed in 2020.

"To welcome full crowds back for domestic and international cricket, as well as concerts, has played a key role in helping the club to return to pre-pandemic levels, whilst the on-site Hilton Garden Inn and the conference and events business continues to go from strength to strength," said Lancashire's chief financial officer, Angela Lowes.

Attendances were slightly impacted by the development of a new stand, but Lowes added that its unveiling was due "for the Ashes this summer".

The club's hotel, which is due to add 100 further bedrooms later in 2023, reported a revenue upwards of £5million.
