Kasey Aldridge has his sights set on winning the County Championship after penning a two-year contract extension with Somerset, which will keep him at Taunton until the end of the 2025 season.

The 22-year-old allrounder, who made his debut in July 2021 against Leicestershire, has earned a regular spot in Somerset's Championship XI, scoring 579 runs at 27.57 and taking 39 wickets at 40.07 in 17 appearances.

This season, he has scored 451 runs, including his maiden first-class century, and taken 16 wickets in eight outings.

Across his career, he has also made 14 List A appearances, taking 19 wickets, and five T20 appearances, including featuring four times in Somerset's 2023 T20 Blast-winning campaign. However, he's yet to take a wicket in the shortest format.

On committing his services to Somerset, Aldridge said: "I'm very happy to have signed an extension and I'm delighted to have secured a contract for the next two years.

"To be able to represent my county for my family and all the people in the south-west is massive for me.

"In the next few years, we want to achieve more of what we did at Edgbaston. We all want to win more trophies, especially that big one. To win the County Championship is a massive aspiration for me and the rest of the boys in the squad as well."

Somerset's director of cricket, Andy Hurry, said: "In the last few years we have seen Kasey's high potential really evolve. In a short space of time, he has become an integral member of the first XI squad across all three formats of the game.

"He is a player with a very high ceiling who has the ability to change the course of a game with the ball, the bat and in the field. We are really excited to continue to work with Kasey on his journey to fulfilling his aspirations and goals within the game."
