The allrounder has committed to the Headingley club until 2025 having become a staple of the first team in recent seasons
Returning Yorkshire to LV= Insurance County Championship Division One is among the priorities for Jordan Thompson after the allrounder penned a new contract with the club until 2025.
The 26-year-old has become a first team regular since making his debut in 2018.
Thompson has played 88 times across the formats for Yorkshire, taking 159 wickets and scoring 1,556 runs.
He was a key member of the Vikings side that reached the last four in the T20 Blast last summer, producing an inspired display in the quarter-final victory over Surrey at the Kia Oval.

But ultimately it was a disappointing campaign for the Headingley club. They were beaten by Roses rivals Lancashire at Finals Day at Edgbaston - Thompson shone again with an 18-ball fifty - and were relegated to Division Two during the final round of Championship matches.
"I'm delighted to have signed a contract extension with Yorkshire and am looking forward to playing my part as we look to secure silverware in the coming years," said Thompson, who will represent MI Emirates during the inaugural ILT20 starting in January 2023.
"I am determined to play my part in getting this club back to where it belongs, competing in division one and challenging for silverware."
Managing director of cricket Darren Gough added: "It's fantastic that Jordan has committed his future to Yorkshire.
"He has been a consistent performer for us for a number of years now and improved every year.

"Having barely missed a game in 2022, his contributions with both ball and bat are so important to us and I'm sure he will continue to develop over the coming years.
"With the contract extensions we have now confirmed, and the additional players we have brought in, I'm confident that we are in a great place to challenge across all formats for years to come."
It has already been a busy off-season for Yorkshire. Shan Masood has joined from Derbyshire as club captain, Neil Wagner will arrive for 10 County Championship matches and Matt Milnes and Ben Mike have signed up from Kent and Leicestershire, respectively.
David Wiese will arrive for the Blast while retired ex-skipper Steven Patterson, Gary Ballance, Tom Loton, David Willey, Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Matthew Waite have all departed.
