Sussex have received a significant blow ahead of the County Championship season with the news overseas signing Jayden Seales will no longer be joining them.
Seales, the West Indies international fast bowler, has suffered a knee injury which will rule him out of the duration of his intended stint at Hove.
The 24-year-old had been due to play the first three months of the English summer, taking in the initial block of matches in the Championship and the majority of the T20 Blast.
However, Sussex will now need to find a replacement after he was told he would need surgery and as long as four months of recovery time to get over the problem.

The development will cause considerable frustration at Sussex, where the signing of Seales had been well received.
A quick seamer capable of topping 90mph, the promise of him combining with Jofra Archer and Tymal Mills in the Blast was particularly exciting.
Now, the Sharks will have to start planning once again, several months after initially securing Seales' services.
The club, who have also been linked with a move for Australia batsman Steve Smith on a short-term deal ahead of the Ashes, will have two overseas spots to fill.
