The former England wicket-keeper moves to Sophia Gardens for the tournament starting next week, joining the team led by coach Matt Maynard
Former England wicket-keeper James Foster has joined the Glamorgan backroom team as a consultant for the T20 Blast.
The 39-year-old retired last year after 18 years at Essex, having also made seven Test and 11 one-day international outings for his country.
Since hanging up his gloves, Foster has occupied a number of coaching roles including with the Khulna Titans, Pesahawar Zalmi, Sydney Thunder, the Vancouver Knights, the Afghanistan Boost Defenders, Worcestershire and the England Lions.
He said: "I’m excited to be working with Glamorgan in their upcoming Vitality T20 Blast campaign, and very much looking forward to joining up with Matt Maynard, Colin Ingram and the talented Glamorgan group".
Glamorgan director of cricket Mark Wallace added: "We’re delighted to be able to bring in James Foster to bolster our coaching ranks for the Vitality Blast.
"James is one of the highest rated young coaches in the game having already worked with England, and in T20 tournaments across the world.
"This is a good time of year to bring in a new voice with different ideas we look forward to him helping us to keep pushing the development of our players and coaches."
