The former England and Surrey seamer becomes the latest addition to a refreshed coaching team ahead of the new county season
Middlesex have appointed former England seamer Jade Dernbach as a consultant fast bowling coach ahead of the new county season.
The 36-year-old, who last year left Surrey after 19 years at the Kia Oval, becomes the latest addition to new first-team head coach Richard Johnson's backroom team.
Last month saw Mark Ramprakash enlisted as batting coach for the duration of the 2022 campaign after a consultancy role over the winter.
Dernbach played 24 one-day internationals and 34 T20Is for England, his last outing coming in 2014.
After a battle with injuries, he had spells at Derbyshire and the Lord's-based Hundred team London Spirit last summer, before making his international return with Italy.
He was released by Surrey last year after making 331 appearances across the formats during close to two complete decades in south London.
"I am delighted to be joining Middlesex cricket as a bowling consultant for this season," said the Johannesburg-born Dernbach.

"Having spoken to Jono and Coley, the opportunity to work with such a talented squad of players was one that I had to take.
"I’m very honoured to be joining such a great club and look forward to working with and helping all the squad to challenge on all fronts this year“
Johnson, who worked with Dernbach at Surrey, added: "He brings an enormous amount of experience, is incredibly passionate about his work, and having only recently played the game is current.
"We are well aware that the appointment of a cricketer who played for our rivals for the best part of twenty years may raise a few eyebrows with Middlesex members, however having worked closely with Jade over the time I spent at Surrey, I speak with first-hand knowledge of what an exceptional operator he is.
"As a coaching group, we want to bring in the very best talent available to help our players improve their performance levels, and in Jade, I know we have exactly that.
"I’ve seen the way he works with players, the knowledge and skills he has to share, and the manner in which he approaches things – he is just the man we need at Middlesex to get the best out of our pace attack."
